God Won’t Waste Your Pain- P.3 (10.30.16)

1 Peter 5:8-9
[8] Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: [9] Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Sometimes we look at people and associate them with our pain. We see them as the enemy. In reality, they are a pawn of the enemy. Our ‘adversary’ is the devil, and he uses people as pawns to advance his own agenda.

The way we resist the devil is to stay steadfast in the faith . Even Jesus resisted the devil by saying, “It is written…”

John 10:10
[10] The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

The first thing we learn about the devil in the book of Genesis is that he is subtle and he operates in stealth mode. If he showed up looking like the devil, you’d never let him in the door. However, his schemes are never a surprise to God. In fact, God already factored in what the enemy would do when He set your destiny.

John 7:19-20 “…why do you go about to kill me?”

Jesus knew at the beginning of His ministry that they were out to kill Him. But when Jesus brought this up, they accused Him of having a devil. The pharisees may not have even known at the time that their envy and hatred would eventually take them to the point of murder. They were being used as pawns by the devil. And God knew what would happen. Jesus was speaking to the enemy.

Nothing the enemy has done or will do will surprise God.

Romans 5:8…while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

No matter what you are going through, God factored it in. Your history does not have the define your destiny. God will use your enemy as a platform for your promotion if you will stand fast in the faith! But, if you continue to use others, and situations as excuses, you’ll never move beyond where you are.

God put you in the earth because He wanted to solve a problem.

Your purpose is directly related to your trial!!! However you respond to your problem will be how you are known. David was just an unknown shepherd boy.. until he defeated Goliath. He had won other victories in the past, but his biggest battle got everyone’s attention.

God will use the very thing you overcome to promote you.

The enemy’s attack on my life has nothing to do with you personally. It is to hinder the destiny God has given you. God created you to solve and to advance the Kingdom of God. The enemy wants to stop that. Everything he is doing is to delay or defeat your purpose.

The enemy misquoted scripture to Eve because he wanted to use her as a pawn to bring sin into the world. He didn’t surprise God. When God brought all Adam, Eve and Satan before him for judgement, He told them that since the devil used woman to bring sin into the world, He would use the woman to bring the Savior into the world. Had the enemy known what would happen, he may not have ever messed with her.

The enemy may be trying to do something in your life, but when God gets through with you, satan will wish he never messed with you! Jesus is anointed to give beauty for ashes, and the oil of joy for mourning. You may not see it while it’s happening, but you will see it!  Don’t be afraid of the enemy because everything he tries is already factored into God’s plan for you.

You wont know your capacity to solve a problem unless you have one. And God will use problems to bring about your destiny. Quit using the enemy as an excuse . The enemy isn’t big enough to stop you! God is on the throne and He is in control of your destiny! No weapon formed against you will prosper! Greater is He that is in you than He that is in the world! Your enemy is your platform for promotion!

Lets be men and women of faith who don’t talk about and dwell on the problems. Rather, lets speak in faith and work on the solution!

Psalm 110:1
[1] The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

A “footstool” is like a step latter. It takes you higher, to a place you couldn’t reach before. God is saying, “Relax and rest in Me while I use your enemies to raise you up to your destiny!”

Isaiah 54:16
Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.

Don’t worry about the enemy who tries to fan the fire in your life. The enemy will raise the heat, but it is God who purifies the Gold. He will use the enemies schemes to promote you!
Your enemy will keep you humble. Jesus told Peter that Satan had come to Him and desired to sift Peter like wheat. Jesus didn’t say, “I told him he couldn’t.” No, He told Peter, “But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren”(Luke 22:32). He went on to say that when you come out of this, go and strengthen your brethren… help others going through the same thing. Your purpose will always be to benefit others.

Psalm 119:98
[98] Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me.

God will use your enemy to push you to where you belong.

In acts they were told to preach in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and all the earth. However they got stuck in Jerusalem. It was only because of the persecution that they ended p taking the gospel out into the world like they were supposed to. God used the enemies plan to advance the gospel .

The Israelites were not meant to be in Egypt. But they would have stayed there forever if they had not been so persecuted. If they would never have left, they never would have made it to the promised land.

Joseph was sold into slavery by his very own brothers, all because he had dreams of God doing big things with his life. God used his trial to promote him. And eventually he was set up in the palace. He never revealed himself to his brothers until they came to him because they were hungry. Its the same with Jesus. When we come to Him hungry, He will reveal Himself. When Joseph’s brothers began to apologize, he basically told them, “The Lord showed me that what you meant for evil, He turned for good.”

Everyone has a Judas friend… that person who comes to you as friend, but they are better friends with your enemies. So be careful that your “friends” are speaking as friends and not pawns of the enemy. How do you tell the difference? A true friend will rejoice with you when you rejoice. Do your friends friends start acing shady when you get that promotion, or the relationship you’ve been praying for? Or are they jealous? A true friend will rejoice with you.

John 15:18-21
[18] If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. [19] If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. [20] Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. [21] But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.
