Volume 1: The Contrast between good and evil

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Judgement means recognition!

Proverbs 15:3
The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

The Word contrasts good and evil over one hundred twenty two times. This is a standard that we should be aware of. We don’t judge, or recognize things as in between or grey, they are good or evil.

Isaiah 5:20
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Psalms 34:14
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

Matthew 7:17-20
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

We are responsible for what is coming out  of our life!

John 5:28-29
Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

3 John 1:11
Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.

Evil individuals have not seen God. What is your fruit?

Mark 7:21-23
For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

Romans 16:19 (Jeremiah 4:22 those who have not known Him)
For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.

In this passage, simple means to be innocent of evil. We should raise our children to be wise toward what is good and innocent to what is evil.

Romans 12:1-2 (Compare with Hebrews 5:13-14)
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Hebrews 5:13-14
For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

When we read the Word of God regularly, our senses are then exercised in the word. The enemy doesn’t want you in the word so your senses aren’t exercised.

We should be well exercised in the word, we shouldn’t lack knowledge:
Isaiah 5:13 – Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.
Hosea 4:6 – My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Jeremiah 4:22 – For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

1 Thessalonians 5:22
Abstain from all appearance of evil.

1 Peter 3:11-12
Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

The Word says to to avoid evil, but, what is is evil? Evil is any thing, person, thought or action that is contrary to the Word, character,  will, and purpose of God.

Genesis 3:1-4
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

In studying the passage from Genesis, the first recorded words of satan in the bible show him questioning what God said. Satan’s second recorded statement was, “ye shall not surely die.” He was deceiving Eve into the belief that there would be no consequences for her disobeying God.

Accusation comes after temptation and sin. The enemy wouldn’t be accusing you if he hadn’t tempted you in the first place!

Don’t let the enemy use accusation to silence you. Even if it was once you in the same scenario, you are forgiven and can speak up. If you have been through it, you are the perfect person to speak on that same issue that is plaguing someone else.
