Matthew 13:18-23
[18] Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower. [19] When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one , and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. [20] But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; [21] Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended. [22] He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. [23] But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it ; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

We have been called to live by faith!

Romans 10:17 says that faith comes by hearing the Word of God. If you want more genuine faith, read the Word more.

Luke 17:5-6
[5] And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. [6] And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

Understanding does a work in the heart that makes the seed produce a harvest.

An understanding heart is a fruitful heart.

Understanding prepares the heart for the seed.

Solomon asked for an understanding heart. This greatly pleased God.

Hosea 10:12
[12] Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord , till he come and rain righteousness upon you.

Increasing your faith is more than hearing the Word, you have to prepare the soil of your heart.

Allow God’s Word to enter your heart through the cultivation of understanding.
Joshua 1:8
[8] This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Psalm 1:1-3
[1] Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. [2] But his delight is in the law of the Lord ; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. [3] And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Proverbs 4:23…if you don’t want something in your life, don’t plant it in your heart.

Whatever gets planted in your heart, the heart tries to grow it…righteous or unrighteous. Things get planted in your heart by what you watch on TV, what music you listen to, whatever you read… etc…

You can’t have a harvest of faith without sowing Word seed.

2 Corinthians 9:6
[6] But this I say , He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

Not only will you reap what you sow, but you also reap how you sow.

Whatever you want to reap, that is what you have to sow. If you want to reap friendship, sow friendship. If you want to reap compassion, sow compassion. If you sow anger, you’ll reap anger. If you sow judgment, you will reap judgment. Sowing and reaping is a spiritual principle that will work on whatever you apply it to.

Quit letting the Bible justify where you are at and let it change where you are at.

In the mouth of two or three witnesses let every word be established…don’t pull a scripture out of context.

Luke 6:38
[38] Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

This verse is not talking about an offering… It’s referring to sowing and reaping.

Luke 6:35-38
[35] But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. [36] Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. [37] Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: [38] Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Your harvest will be determined by WHAT you sow and HOW you sow.

When you take God at His Word there is nothing that He can’t do!!!

You have no right to expect a harvest of seed that you haven’t sown.
