What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honor. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph. For the Lord most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.
God didn’t make us to be oppressed or dominated. We were made to have dominion.
The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils. And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges. But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
Squatters try to bluff you into believing they have the right to something that that they don’t really have any legal right to. We have to remove the squatters from our lives.
Jesus said that He binds the strong man. There is no power stronger than Him, and no one can bind Him.
And it came to pass, that on the next day, when they were come down from the hill, much people met him. And, behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son: for he is mine only child. And, lo, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth out; and it teareth him that he foameth again, and bruising him hardly departeth from him. And I besought thy disciples to cast him out; and they could not. And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you? Bring thy son hither. And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father. And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. But while they wondered every one at all things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples, Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.
And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
When they later asked Jesus why they were unable to cast out the devil from the boy, Jesus basically told them it was because they tried to do it disconnected from Him.
We have the greatest power living inside us. Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. But we must stay connected to the source… Jesus.
Later, the disciples began to argue about who among them was the greatest. So in Luke 10, Jesus went and found 70 new people off the street and gave them the kingdom. They had an assignment.. to tell people the kingdom of God has come.
And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
Jesus came to restore the power back to us that was lost. Through Him, we have been given back dominion.
And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
