Successful people adapt to the season they are in.
There are people in our lives that have experienced things in their life that we have not, and they pressed on.
1. You must recognize the season you are in. (Ecc. 3:1)
2. You must adapt to the season you are in.
“And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.”
Luke 19:41-44
- Just because it’s God’s will for your life doesn’t mean it’s today.
- Don’t make permanent decisions over temporary situations.
- Galatians 4:4 – Fullness of the time.
- Sadly, the people Jesus came to did not recognize Him.
- You can’t recognize what you don’t know.
- Knowledge and recognition are one in the same.
- Hosea 4:6.
- Isaiah 5:13.
- What I’m not recognizing could harm me, and it certainly can’t benefit me.
- You must recognize the opportunities in front of you that are God ordained.
- Visitation = wholeness in an area where we are broken
- How sad it would be if God wants to bless and benefit us but we did not recognize it
“For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.”
1 Corinthians 13:9-13
- vs. 11 – context is essential (limited in knowledge)
- We grow in knowledge with age and experience
- How much we know determines how much we can see
- Glass Darkly – But then face to face (notice the image difference)
- What you are able to see/recognize is key to you season
- Maturity – a part of spiritual maturity is benefiting from the season you are in and recognizing how to respond accordingly
- Is there a maturity in my life to recognize the season I am in
- Sometimes God may need to do things for our best interest
Recognizing what season you are in will determine how you can minister to those around you.
I can’t deposit in you what never got deposited into me.
“Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.”
Proverbs 3:27
You cannot separate what someone is due based on the season they are in
Galatians 6:9 – “for in due season”
You can’t get tired of doing good in this season because in due season you will reap the reward
When God puts someone in my life and their it there due season, have the power to help them
We can’t be everyone’s Jesus
We are to love them but we can’t save them
Some people are out in our life for a yes but some we must say no to.
Our no to one thing may be a better yes in a later season
The no today doesn’t mean the no tomorrow
Just because I have the authority to do it, doesn’t mean I am suppose to
Leading of the Spirit is all about timing
When you recognize the people that God put in your life, you are recognizing the season
Entitlement due is not biblical
You are not entitled to something because of what someone else has
God blesses you to be a blessing
Imagine God using you for what someone else is due
Person must be due it, I must have the power to do it.
“I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.”
Habakkuk 2:1-4
“Wait for it” – it will surely come
Write, Run, Wait!
It is okay to wait as long as you are getting prepared for the season
Wait/Patience is a verb – getting prepared
“Get your stuff together”
The vision of my life is the discipline of my life.
Never an idle moment, getting your stuff together for the next season
You can’t succeed on a wait that isn’t getting your stuff together.
Adapt to the season you are in
