4 Ways To Find The Will Of God In Your Life: P.3 (7.1.18)

Matthew 6:9-10
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

God’s will is not automatic in life. We have to seek it and pray for it. It’s something to be sought after.

You can have as much of the Kingdom in your life as you want. It all depends on how much of your own will you are willing to lay down for His will. The more dominion you give the King, the more kingdom you’ll get.

1 John 5:14-15
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

You can’t separate the will of God from the Word of God.

You can’t violate the Word of God and be in the will of God.

Isaiah 55:6-11
Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord , and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.  For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord . For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.  For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

God is a revealing God.  He wants to reveal Himself and His will to you.

God’s Word delivers His thoughts and His ways. You can’t sit under the Word of God and not see the results of it.

Ps 119:133, 165

Don’t mistake God’s peace for happiness. They are not the same thing.
Happiness is based on what is happening. Its contingent on circumstances-which are subject to change. Something may feel good, but if your mind doesn’t have peace with it, it’s not God’s will. Don’t try and fill a void in your life with worldly happiness at the sacrifice of God’s peace.

Biblical peace is wholeness in your mind, body and spirit. True peace and joy comes from the Lord. His peace isn’t determined by circumstances. You can have peace in any circumstance. When he gives you fulfillment, it will be in agreement with your mind, body and spirit. You can count on God’s peace to remain steady.

There is a reward to walking in the Will of God: unshakeable peace and joy.

Isaiah 55:12
For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

Galatians 5 tells us that both walking in the flesh or in the spirit both reap a separate harvest.

The fruit of the spirit will be a reward of walking in the will of God.

1 Chronicles 13:3,7,9-12
And let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we enquired not at it in the days of Saul. And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drave the cart. And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.  And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God.  And David was displeased, because the Lord had made a breach upon Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perez-uzza to this day. And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?

1 Chronicles 15:12-16
And said unto them, Ye are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the Lord God of Israel unto the place that I have prepared for it. For because ye did it not at the first, the Lord our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.  So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the Lord God of Israel. And the children of the Levites bare the ark of God upon their shoulders with the staves thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of the Lord . And David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of musick, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy.

Doing the Word of God will bring peace and joy into your life.

2 Samuel 6:1-7
Again, David gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand.  And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the Lord of hosts that dwelleth between the cherubims. And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah: and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drave the new cart.  And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab which was at Gibeah, accompanying the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark. And David and all the house of Israel played before the Lord on all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals.  And when they came to Nachon’s threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it . And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.

David had a good idea, but didn’t go about it the right way. The Word already said how the Ark should be transported. We have to stop bringing our own good ideas to God and expecting Him to bless them, but getting mad if He doesn’t. If we just do things God’s way first, we will reap a harvest of peace and joy!
