“For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”

2 Peter 1:16-21

Jesus in the beginning was the Word!

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

John 1:1, 14

  • His glory was tabernacled among us.
  • The Glory of God is the manifestation of God in your life.
  • Genesis 1:26.
  • Psalms 8 – crowned man with His glory.
  • God man made in His own image.
  • Romans 3:23 – fell short of the glory of God through sin (Before Jesus).
  • Many know what they have “been from,” but many don’t understand what they have been saved TO.
  • Colossians 1:27 – Hope of Glory (After Jesus).
  • I Corinthians 15.
  • If you want to know who Jesus is you look into His Word.

“Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.”

John 2:4-8

“This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.”

John 2:11

  • Prior to the working of the miracle, Jesus looked common.
  • After the miracle He manifested His glory.
  • He was able to represent in earth the Power of God manifested in Heaven.
  • Jesus brought the Father glory because He was the walking manifestation of the Father on earth.

“And Moses said unto the Lord, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight. Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people. And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence. For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.”

Exodus 33:12-16

  • We only have the hope of glory in His presence with us.
  • Jesus didn’t come to establish a religion; He came to establish a relationship.
  • You can’t get your presentation right before God without the blood shed by Jesus.
  • When the relationship had been broken, God went looking for Adam, desiring the relationship.

“And the Lord said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name. And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.”

Exodus 33:17-23

  • Moses recognized his view was limited.
  • Moses wanted to see God. Even though he couldn’t see the face of God, He saw the evidence of where God has been.
  • Romans 2:4.

“For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.”

Matthew 16:27-28

“And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.”

Matthew 17:1-4

  • II Peter 1:17.
  • Transfigured – overwhelmed on what was on the outside by what was on the inside.
  • Jesus is God with us.
  • The glory is able to tabernacle among man through Jesus.
  • Peter, James and John saw Jesus in a way that the other 9 didn’t get to see Him.
  • Tabernacles are designed to house glory.

“While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.”

Matthew 17:5-6

  • All submit to Jesus.
  • The cloud arrived as He spoke.
  • John 1:1, 14.

“And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid. And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.”

Matthew 17:7-8

It is something about our words that reveal who we really are.

“Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;”

2 Peter 1:13

“For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

2 Peter 1:17

  • Hebrews 1:1.

My purpose in life is to reflect His glory!
