The Power To Be Saved: P.1 (7.9.17)

Romans 6:5-9,14
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him , that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

When considering salvation we have to recognize not only what we have been saved from, but also what we have been saved to.

We should have a spoken testimony of what we’ve been saved from, and a living testimony of what God has saved us to.

Psalm 8:3-6
When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

Man was crowned with glory and honor and made to have dominion…verses 5&6

The ultimate purpose God has for every person is that our lives bring Him glory.

God did not make you to be in bondage to anything.

Man wasn’t saved to religion. God saved man to have a relationship with Him.

God wants to use us to manifest Himself in other people’s lives. We are called to represent God and bring Him glory in the earth. We are ambassadors of His kingdom.

When you are walking in the power of His salvation, your life will be bringing God glory.

Romans 7:5,24-25
For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

2 Peter 1:3-4
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

I’ve been given a divine power for the purpose of walking in a divine nature.

God gave us power to BE saved- not just to get saved.

Ask yourself, “is my life a living testimony?”

2 Timothy 1:7-9
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

Don’t be afraid to live a life that glorifies God and a life that is all about Jesus.

My life should be a living witness that God is who He says He is.
