Spirit of the Lord | Wisdom |Understanding
Counsel | Might | Knowledge | Fear of the Lord
The anointing of the Holy Spirit comes in seven parts. These seven parts of the anointing are imparted on us only by the Holy Spirit. Every one of these anointings have the power to remove burdens and destroy yokes by the power of God.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;
And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel…
The seven anointings have purpose. In this passage, Jesus reveals that the Spirit of the Lord is necessary to preach the gospel. You can preach without the Spirit of the Lord but you won’t get results. A preacher cannot remove your burdens or destroy your yokes, but the anointing can!
The Spirit of the Lord, or the Holy Spirit, Spirit of God, Holy Ghost possesses these seven anoinings. The Holy Spirit and the Holy Ghost are the same. The difference in the name has to do with the life and death of Jesus. In the Old Testament you will see the Holy Spirit mentioned. This is the same Spirit that dwelled in Jesus. After Jesus dies and the Spirit is disembodied, He then becomes the Holy Ghost. When you have been anointed by the Holy Spirit, you’ve been sent.
No matter what Jesus faced, he had the anointing to face whatever came up. He walked in the anointing and therefore, he was sent and equipped.
He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
Notice how Jesus connects the dots back to the one Who sent him
Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
The Father sent Him by anointing Him and so Jesus sends us by anointing us.
John 1:46 – Nathaniel said that nothing good could come out of Nazareth, yet our Savior came out of Nazareth. Because he was sent (anointed), it did not matter where He came from.
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.
2 Peter 1:3-4 – The anointing is for life!
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus. This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John. And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly. And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace: For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.
This man had passion and intensity and preached diligently but he didn’t have a revelation of Jesus yet. After he was taught, then he preached that Jesus was Christ. He got introduced to the anointing. He knew of the water baptism but then learned of the spiritual baptism.
When he started preaching, he was limited until after he was introduced to Jesus. If we are going to advance the Kingdom, we have to operate in the anointing and have the same message of Jesus, the anointed one. We should be directing people to him!
Jesus is the anointed one, he is the Christ!
