The Anatomy Of The Anointing: Pt. 4 (4.3.19)

In this series, we are breaking down the anointing of the Holy Spirit for a detailed study.

Isaiah 10:27
And shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

Scripture teaches us that the anointing removes burdens and destroys yokes. This is true for any of the anointings and there are seven anointings from God mentioned in scripture.

Amos 3:3
Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

To anoint is to “rub off” on to something. As we begin to walk and agree with the Holly Spirit, He rubs off on us. That “rubbing off” is a deposit of His super on our natural. The Holy Spirit is the source of the anointing.

Ephesians 4:30
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

We are sealed until the day of redemption but that doesn’t mean everyone who is sealed is walking in his power. There is a difference between the Holy Spirit being a resident in your life or the president of your life.

Matthew 5:3
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

This scripture can also be read as, blessed are the beggars in spirit. We need His anointing ALL DAY.We should be a beggar in spirit everyday and be desperate for his anointing everyday. The Anointing is not just for a pastor or preacher, it is for anyone who is a Christian. The naming of Christians in Acts 11:26 came from people’s observation of the disciples’ Christ-like teachings and actions.

Acts 11:26
And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

Don’t be a burden to others when you call yourself a Christian. We didn’t come to be a burden, we came to remove a burden!

2 Peter 1:2-4
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Acknowledge that the Holy Spirit knows more than you. Acknowledge that He is there and ask for help.

Luke 4:16‭-‬18
And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.  And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

Matthew 13:54
And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?

When you read the bible, be sensitive to the mention of an anointing. Start to recognize them. You will notice that they are mentioned often throughout scripture.

The anointing is where the spirit meets the flesh. There is a power, likely not tapped, that the Holy Spirit has to offer. Christians should not be known for being foolish, ignorant or weak when there is an advantage given to walk in the anointing through the Holy Spirit.

Acts 7:22
And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.

Daniel 1:3‭-‬4
And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king’s seed, and of the princes; Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.

Daniel 2:14‭, ‬19‭-‬20
Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king’s guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon: Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.  Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:

In Acts 1:8, the Holy Ghost was given on the day of Pentecost. Before then, nobody had the advantage that we have after receiving the Holy Spirit.

Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Daniel 5:11‭-‬14
There is a man in thy kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of thy father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, was found in him; whom the king Nebuchadnezzar thy father, the king, I say, thy father, made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers;  Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and shewing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will shew the interpretation. Then was Daniel brought in before the king. And the king spake and said unto Daniel, Art thou that Daniel, which art of the children of the captivity of Judah, whom the king my father brought out of Jewry?  I have even heard of thee, that the spirit of the gods is in thee, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee.

Exodus 31:3
And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,

Exodus 36:1
Then wrought Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whom the Lord put wisdom and understanding to know how to work all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the Lord had commanded.

These two scripture from Exodus highlight the fact that those called to build the temple had to have the anointing on their craft.
Study Deuteronomy.

Stop saying you can’t do it! You can do it through the anointing of Christ.

Deuteronomy 4:5‭-‬6
Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the Lord my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it. Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.
