The Beginning of Sorrows

The Beginning of Sorrows | Pt. 9 (Wednesday 4.22.20)

By Sermon Notes

“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.”
Matthew 24:1-4

We have been in a time that Jesus foretold of called the beginning of sorrows.

These are the “birth pains” of the earth foretelling of the end of time.

“Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.”
Luke 11:52

The word of God is alive. It is not a history book that points to past events alone. The Bible is also a book of prophesy. The word of God is being manifested and coming to pass…we are currently living IN the Bible days!

What separates Jesus from any other prophet is that every aspect of his life was foretold of before he was ever conceived. (Hebrews 10:7)

For every prophesy that indicated that Jesus was coming there are eight that tell us he s coming again.

We’ve studied the Satan wants control of three domains: Religious, Economical, and Political. We’ve also recently studied “Faith in the Fire” and “Praying the Word”. Amos 3 says that nothing would come upon the earth before it is revealed to His prophet. We’ve been prepared for this season.

The body of Christ must know what is written and speak the Word of God over our 40! We’ve been given the authority to speak the word according to Psalm 50:16

In this passage, Jesus mentions “keys to knowledge”. Things in the Bible were sealed until the end times: “But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.” Daniel 12:4

Based on Pastor’s study, these are The “Keys” to Knowledge that he has discovered in the word:

1) The Holy Spirit (John 16:13)

2) Let the Bible teach the Bible (Isaiah 28:10)

3) Use the Old and New Testament (Matthew 13:52)

4) Discover the Patterns in the Word (Psalms 40:7, Hebrews 10:7)

5) Always look for Jesus (John 5:39)

“Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:”
Isaiah 28:9-10

The Word is compared to milk, honey, bread, and meat…all things we consume. If we want knowledge we must eventually come off the milk.

This is what will give us strength to go into the field and do battle.

Studying the word line upon line, precept upon precept, we are able to get a deep understanding of the word.

“Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the Lord, the first, and with the last; I am he.”
Isaiah 41:4

In every generation there is a need for salvation and a need for Jesus. Sometimes we get so comfortable that we forget this.

A prophetical picture of the last day church was the church of Laodecia.

There is something about crisis that helps people realize that their life is not as secure as they thought it was. This is where God can take something bad and turn it for good.

Genesis 5:1-29 details the generations from Adam to Noah. The name in each generation is translated into the condition of man and tells the story of Jesus’ coming. The names defined give us: Man was appointed mortal sorrow but the blessed God shall come down teaching, his death shall bring the despairing comfort and rest.

Generations

“And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”
Jude 1:14-15

Enoch prophesied of judgement coming. He was pointing to the return of Jesus seven generations after Adam and long before Jesus came.

“Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.”
1 Peter 3:20-22

Jesus compared his return to God’s long-suffering in the the days of Noah (Matthew 24:37)

The Lord could have judged the earth at any time but he was long-suffering.

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”
2 Peter 3:3-5,8-9

What God is foretelling will come!

God is holding back His judgement for the saving of souls.

And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:”
Genesis 5:21-22

For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
2 Thessalonians 2:7 KJV

“For the mystery of lawlessness (that hidden principle of rebellion against constituted authority) is already at work in the world, [but it is] restrained only until he who restrains is taken out of the way.”
2 Thessalonians 2:7 AMPC

We are a modern day Methuselah called to advance God’s kingdom until the last soul enters in. At that point, the church will be taken out of the earth and judgement will fall.

We are here with a purpose.

The Beginning of Sorrows | Pt. 5 (Sunday 3.29.20)

By Sermon Notes

“And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.”
Matthew 24:1-8

Successful people know how to adapt to seasons. Ecc 9:13 reminds us that a wise man knows how to make a judgement call based on the season that he is in.

We can get so caught up in routines that we won’t break that routine. If we’re not careful, we expect tomorrow to look like today and next Sunday to look like this Sunday. We have to be sensitive to seasons, there is nothing that is certain when it comes to tomorrow. We are to take no thought for tomorrow.

A sorrow is a birth pain. It comes from the Hebrew word, “Odin” which is a pang or throe, especially of childbirth–pain, sorrow, travail. These “birth pains” are leading us up to the end of time. The closer we get to the end of the world, the closer together and more intense these signs will become.

What is happening right now (coronavirus) Jesus already spoke on and warned us about.

Its our job to continue to be who God called us to be in every season. Will we come out of this better, wiser, and more determined than we went in?

“But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.”
Thessalonians 5:1-10

The end of time comes like birth pains on a woman with child leading up to the delivery of that child (the return of Jesus).

For those who have been born again, Jesus’ return will not overtake us like a thief in the night because he has told us in his word what to look for. It will overtake unbelievers like a thief in the night.

“The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven. He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?”
Matthew 16:1-3

Jesus said that we should be able to tell the times and what is going to happen by the signs in the earth.

Reading the word of God is like reading tomorrow’s newspaper today.

“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.”
Daniel 12:4,8-10

Man will run to and fro and knowledge will be shared and increased! Some things will not be understood until knowledge is increased. Our ability to share knowledge instantaneously across the globe is a fulfillment of prophesy in itself.

The word will test you to see if you really believe what you say you believe. Isaiah 53:1 says whose report will you believe?

As much as you would store up bread in times of famine, we need to store up the word in our hearts in times of famine.

“Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”
John 16:7-13

The first role of the Holy Spirit is to convince us to believe, the second is to convince us to righteousness, the third is of judgement.

The Holy Spirit is God’s prophetic voice. We should not be surprised or unprepared about any of this. Nothing should overtake us in our ignorance.

God is who He says he is. Only a God who stands outside of time could predict the end from the begining.

There is going to be a harvest. These days are a prelude to revival!

The Beginning of Sorrows | Pt. 2 (Wednesday 3.18.20)

By Sermon Notes, Uncategorized

“I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;”
2 Timothy 4:1-3

There is something about a trial that will make the main thing the main thing again!

Be instant in and out of season…when we can gather and when we can’t gather.

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 15:58

This is an opportunity for the body of Christ to rise up and declare the Word of God!

Stop saying “Oh me” and say “Amen” to the promises of God! “

In Isaiah 53:1, the question is asked “Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?”  The arm of the Lord will be revealed to them that believe the report.

FEAR is nothing more than False Evidence Appearing Real. Threats and issues may be real but they don’t have to have power over us. Just because “its” out there, “it” doesn’t have to get you!

The word of God doesn’t change just because our situation or position changes.

“I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
Philippians 4:12-13

I am instructed: When you don’t have the word of God in your life, you don’t know how to go through things.

Everything we go through will not be tailor made for us. When things are not going our way, will we still be who God called us to be? Are you still the head and not the tail? Are you still above only and never beneath?

Jehosephat put confidence in two things, the name of the Lord, and the word of the Lord.

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”
2 Timothy 3:1-2,10-17

The word knowledge represents a conviction and oneness in truth. This is demonstrated in Genesis 4 where Adam knew Eve and she conceived and bear a son. This verse in 2 Timothy shows that in the last days, people will be ever learning but not have the knowledge of God.

When we stand on the word, believe it and have hope in the word of God we become one with the word in these perilous times. Adversity will make you one with God.

When times are hard, you’ve got to stick with what you’ve learned.

If the body of Christ is broken and defeated, how will the world receive hope.

We cannot be defeated. Let the word of faith come out of your mouth and confuse the enemy.

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” Isaiah 26:3 – When our mind is really on Jesus, we should walk in peace.

We are living epistles. The living word. Our lives need to reflect the glory and goodness of God. We need to be medicine to the people around us.

The enemy wants us all offended at each other and eventually at God.

There are many believers who only have a physical connection with Jesus and no spiritual connection. John 6:26-29 gives an account of people who only followed Jesus for the bread he gave them, not for him or the miracles he did. Don’t let this be you!

What will we convey to the Lord in hard times?

God looks at the remnant who is ready to be used for His kingdom!

Rise up! This is the threshold to revival!

Declaration of Psalm 91 over your life:
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord , He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the Lord , which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
Psalms 91:1-16

Declaration of 2 Chronicles 20:9 over your life:
If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.
2 Chronicles 20:9
