Luke 4:14-21
[14] And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. [15] And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. [16] And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. [17] And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, [18] The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, [19] To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. [20] And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. [21] And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

Luke 10:17…the 70 that were sent got results

Luke 4:43
[43] And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.

Luke 10:1
[1] After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.

Until you see that you’ve been called and you see that you’ve been sent, you will not go.

Acts 1:1-9
[1] The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, [2] Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: [3] To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God: [4] And, being assembled together with them , commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he , ye have heard of me. [5] For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. [6] When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? [7] And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. [8] But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. [9] And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

Acts 1:11-12
[11] Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. [12] Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s journey.

Every church and individual has been given the assignment of reaching Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

The book of acts is a report card
Acts 1-7 how they reached Jerusalem
Acts 8-12 how they reaching Judaea and Samaria
13-28 how they reached the uttermost part of the earth

Your Jerusalem is the place that you are geographically located.
Your Jerusalem is where you are relationally connected.
Family, neighbors, coworkers etc.

Your Judaea and Samaria is those that you are geographically near but separated from and don’t have a relationship with.

Your uttermost part of the earth is those that you don’t have a geographical or relational connection to.

If you are going to be the 70 you have to recognize that you are going to need to reach people that don’t look like you.

If you are the 70, who are you reaching in your Jerusalem, Judaea and Samaria, and the Uttermost part of the earth.

If we are all sensitive, everyone will get reached.

Acts 6:7
[7] And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

Acts 9:31
[31] Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.

Acts 11:1
[1] And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.

Acts 12:24
[24] But the word of God grew and multiplied.

The Holy Spirit

Acts 16:5
[5] And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.

Acts 19:19-20
[19] Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men : and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. [20] So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

Acts 28:30-31
[30] And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, [31] Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

How are we as individuals and a church doing in the advancement of the Word of God?
