How To Hear From God-P.1 (11.30.16)

Part 1: Voice Recognition

We recognize people’s voices by the content and character of their words.

Mark 8:18
[18] Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?

HEART
Having an Ear to hear is the ART of a Christian

John 10:4-5,16
[4] And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. [5] And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. [16] And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

The Lord leads us in life.

The enemies voice is a driving voice.
The Lords voice is a drawing/leading voice.

John 10:28-30
[28] And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. [29] My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. [30] I and my Father are one.

Recognize what the Lord has placed in your life!!

Acknowledge the Lord in all your ways and he will direct your path…

What goes unrecognized in your life, leaves your life.

Recognize the voice of the Lord so that it isn’t that distant voice because you were putting more emphasis on other voices in your life.

Luke 19:41-42,44
[41] And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, [42] Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. [44] And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

With every decision, acknowledge the Lord…and follow His leading.

Am I listening as the Lord is directing and leading me in my life?

God knows how the speak in a voice that we understand.

Matthew 11:13-19
[13] For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. [14] And if ye will receive it , this is Elias, which was for to come. [15] He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. [16] But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows, [17] And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented. [18] For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil. [19] The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.

Practice listening to God on little things.

The voice of God is heard in your inner ear…unlike the voice of people we hear with our outer ear.

Hebrews 5:11-14
[11] Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. [12] For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. [13] For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. [14] But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

God has more for us to hear from Him than “yes” and “no”…there is so much more God has for us in our relationship with Him.

Exercise hearing from God and recognizing the content and character of His voice.

It is in place of worship that you will elevate any other voice outside of Gods voice…let praise arise and enemies scatter.
