Sure: No Room for Doubt

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him; for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrews 11:6

Once we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, it is a finished work. We are saved by His grace and not by any works we can take credit for (Ephesians 2:8-9). As God’s children, we must live SURE in His finished work everyday by living our faith in action. We must live with bold faith. There is no room for doubt. As Christians we hold a huge responsibility to non-believers. Our actions speak loudly and our faith in action speaks even louder. We want to always display actions that will draw others to Christ. We want to be like a billboard that reads ”Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.”

How does it make you feel when you hear someone say that they will do something but they never actually do it? You may even see them do exactly the opposite. Instantly you start to lose trust in that person. You my have trouble believing anything they say. As ambassadors for Christ, we have a responsibility to speak God’s truth; but more importantly to act in line with those truths, boldly, without doubt in God’s power. The good news is exactly that: once we have Jesus, we have His strength within us to do so. We simply have to trust in and rely on Him.

Inaction is just as dangerous as the wrong actions. Faith is not a gift that we should put on the shelf to collect dust and only pull down when needed. Faith requires us to live out what we know is true in God’s Word everyday. Like James 1:6 says, “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.” It is critical for us to not waiver in our prayers, or in our seeking God continuously for His will to be done in our lives. We must act boldly in faith for others to see the Glory of God and be drawn to Him. As Christians we are representatives of Jesus on earth and our faith must be bold and steadfast, without doubt.

Again, you may be thinking, “Wow, this is a lot of responsibility!” Don’t forget that Jesus only requires our faith in Him. He is the One who truly does all of the work. Hallelujah, that’s good news! We serve an amazing God. We simply have to rely on Him without wavering and let Him work through us to do great things for His glory. And to top it off, Hebrews 11:6 tells us God is a God who rewards our faith.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, we love you! Thank You for Your grace and mercy! Help me to have BOLD FAITH every day. Help me to rely on You. In Jesus name – Amen.
